Well, I haven’t updated in a bit which is actually normal for me. So here is the low down on all that is going on.

1. Knitting Content – I will cover this part first so that you don’t have to read the personal stuff if you don’t want to.

Nati is complete. It was a very easy knit. The yarn calls for something bulky. I used two strands held together and find that it isn’t bulky at all. It also fits really well. I am glad that I knit it and may even do it again!

I have also been spinning. I am working on knitting socks and was supposed to do a secret project but am not motivated. So I started spinning again.

I have all of my “yarn” for my trip. I am planning on doing socks as they are light and simple AND I need to get some done. I am also working on my Block Exchange in Ravelry. I have half the blocks done, will be sending them out this week and will complete the rest in the next week or so.

2. Travel – Here is where the personal stuff starts so move on if you don’t want to read. David leaves tomorrow for Argentina. We had a great dinner tonight with his boys and got our arrangements straight. I will see him in 28 days (add one day due to the time difference) and it feels like it will be forever yet I know it is going to fly by (I hope!). He and his youngest are very excited and I am looking forward to hearing all the stories. But, I am anxious for December 19 to arrive.

3. Health – I started a health blog but I am not keeping that up either so I am most likely going to just post the stuff here. I have lost 47 lbs since January (stopped at the end of March and maintained my weight till Oct 27 when I started the weight loss journey again). I am 23lbs from my goal. When I reach it I will probably look at losing more since my target weight is at the high end of my suggested weight range. I would really like to lose another 10lbs before I head away but I am starting with Jillian Michaels 30 day shred video which is kick ass. So, if I change the fat to muscle but don’t lose the weight then its perfect! This weekend I had the first “I’m skinny” moment. People comment on the weight that I have lost but its different when I look at myself. I see me. Not the me that has lost the weight. Just me. I was getting ready to go to the High School City volleyball championships on Friday and as I was looking at myself to check my outfit I had that moment. It was pretty cool. I have also noticed that I am on the verge of dropping to the next size down in clothing. I put my jeans on and within 5 minutes they were feeling too big (after just coming out of the wash). It is a great feeling. Also, I put on a shirt that a month ago I couldn’t wear. It wouldn’t fit over my boobs and the sleeves were too tight on my arms to wear buttoned up. But, today I was able to wear the shirt AND have the buttons on my upper arms done up.

I am proud of myself for working so hard. I have a goal to be healthy for both me and Cameron. I want him to see his mom healthy and in shape. And it is happening!

Knitting (I put this first in case you don’t want to read the personal content)

Lady February – I am now on the lace part of the sweater. The garter seemed to go on forever for some reason but the lace pattern is so easy to do and it is coming along quite nicely. Perhaps the garter felt like it went on forever because I had to rip it out and restart on US7’s rather than the US6’s I was using.

Wedding Blanket – (aka Lizard Ridge) is starting to come along. I am almost done my first block. If in September I can knit 1.25 squares a day I will have it done before October 1 and then have time to put it together. I know 1.25 blocks a day is not going to happen, but I think that I can do a block in 2-3 hours. So weekend knitting time is dedicated to that.

Car Knitting – I am currently working on a garter scarf. Basic. Easy. No Brainer.

Ravelympics – I finished two cowls. I had high hopes of doing more, but with it being summer and us always being at the Polo Field my knitting time was drastically reduced.

As for Spinning – I have a few one night stands lined up.

Since I will be watching the 90210 season premiere, I think that Brandon will be my choice for that night.

Personal Stuff

This month has been a long one for me and it is not yet over. It has been a bit of an unhappy one also, as much as there have been some very happy times. The unhappiness revolves mostly around work. I am sure that I am not alone in this as everyone has moments where they hate or dislike what they do. For me, it is more the people than the job. I love what I do. It is constantly changing and I am being challenged to expand my knowledge about architecture and the places/projects we are have/are/will be working on.

I am an EA so my loyalty goes to my bosses. I enjoy that also. But there are coworkers who use my position as a way to try and gain information from me about what is going on with the Partners of the Firm or the Firm itself. I don’t know why they don’t seem to “get it” that I am not divulging that information. Is that too hard of a concept to understand? I honestly don’t think so. Then there are those people who tell me their problems/concerns with the expectation that I will take it to my bosses for them, rather than them having the guts to speak themselves.

Anyways, an incident happened last week that made me angry past my breaking point. I lost it a bit (not a lot, but a bit) and spoke at length with one of the Associates about it. I have had some issues with the workplace gossip and negativity that some people hold on to. But, that wasn’t something that my bosses needed to know. However, it got to be too much. Needless to say, on Monday when the bosses were back in the office they had a bit of stuff (ok a lot) to deal with. I am not the only one who was feeling this way and they had to deal with it.

For me, its been very cleansing as I was able to tell them my issues and got everything off of my chest. I felt like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. Then there was a wonderful fight with my Ex over scheduling and the lack of consideration for my time when he is planning his life that came right after my mini breakdown moment on Friday. Oh the joys of co-parenting.

It has been an emotional and draining week. David wasn’t here this weekend either to take my mind off of all the crap either, so on Monday, when he got back into town, I downloaded on him over a glass of wine. I am very thankful for his perspective on things. Plus he just makes it better.

I have to admit that I am not crazy about affairs of any kind if I am the recipient of the hurt that they cause. If they hurt others, well that is something different and a topic for a different post altogether. Over the last week David has been gone to China on a conference. It has sucked. I miss him. A lot. Being the self destructive person that I am, well, I got into a bit of trouble. There is even evidence.

Bet you thought I was going to show you something bad?! No. My affair has been to my knitting. It has been sorely neglected as the spinning bug has taken over. This is a mix of Spunky Eclectic and Crown Mountain rovings. And, it is some stash busting. The problem is that I screwed up my shoulder a few weeks ago (please don’t ask, it falls under the TMI category). On Saturday it started to get sore again. This after spinning up a good 3.5 ounces of the Spunky on Friday and then starting the Crown Mountain on the same day. By Saturday night I noticed that my shoulder was getting sore but thought nothing of it. Come Sunday afternoon it got worse. Did I stop? No. I kept on going until I had plied the a bobbin full.

Monday morning. Wake up. Can barely move my fucking neck. Cursing myself I dropped Cameron off at daycare and came home with the phone book open and my cell phone handy. After calling a bunch of places I finally was able to get into Sante. I had a great massage. If every touch given could be considered great. She touched my shoulders before I even got onto the table and made a tsk’ing noise at how tense/tight the muscles were. By the end of the therapeutic massage I was sore and she was tired. I go back on Sunday!!

So my Ladybug is back in her corner. This is probably for the best since my housework and laundry have fallen to the wayside during this affair. Also, maybe I can make amends with my projects beside my chair.
