smilers
Have you ever met someone who smiles through everything. I mean, you are having a serious conversation with them and all they do is smile? Creeeeepy. For some reason, it doesn’t make me want to trust them.

takes a lot out of you. For months now I had been working at a job that didn’t require me to do much of anything. Where I was done work so early in the morning that I was having to work at looking for things to do to make me look busy. But not now.
I have finished day 3. And survived. There is something about being able to organize and make a difference. The people are great. And I’m having a blast.
BUT … at the end of the day, after I’ve put the kidlet to bed, I am tired. So I think in the last few days I’ve knit maybe 3 rows on my socks. I haven’t touched the Rowan Project. This is a long weekend though, so perhaps there will be something to talk about….

You Are 88% A Child of the 80s |
![]() There’s hardly a moment of the 80s that you missed out on. Was there ever a better decade? As if! |
Dear Karen,
Dear Karen,
Although you are one of my dearest friends, your need to constantly go against the grain of what Dana and I do is rebellious. I feel it is time for an Intervention. This rebellious nature of yours needs to stop. This is how I propose we change you from a Slacker, Knitter into a Productive, Main Stream, Fiber Loving Artist:
1) You will be locked in a room, devoid of anything that might distract you.
2) Flashcards will be used to determine the severity of your “Slacker, Knitter” condition.
3) Caffeine will be supplied in copious amounts.
4) Country music will be playing.
5) Knitting will be in a clear unbreakable plexiglass box for you to admire but not touch.
Once you have reached the point were Slacker, Knitter is no longer appealing and you post more regularly on your blog (towing the line like Dana and myself) you will be allowed back into society.
Love.
Morgan

This weekend has been a friend filled weekend. I love it when that happens. I am a bit of a recluse when it comes to my extracurricular activities. I would much rather stay at home, alone, knitting than expending energy hanging out. I like my own company.
However, I have two fantastic friends. Dana and Karen. Anyone who knows one or either of them knows that if they are your friend, they are loyal and extremely supportive. I can only hope that I give back as much as I receive from them. The girls brought the dogs to the house this weekend for a play / knit date. I crate up Whitley during the day. Well. Dana’s dogs liked the crate.
They were so funny hanging out in a crate that was too small for them. I couldn’t do anything other than laugh.
Socks: It has also been a socktastic month.

Basic socks in sea silk with a garter heel and toe.

These were a gift from Karen. She has gone shopping in my stash and a pair of hand knit alpaca socks was what I got in return. OMG. These socks are luscious. They make my feet so happy … and soft. HOLY CRAP are they soft. Nice a toasty on a Sunday evening in front of the fireplace.

The local posse (aka Karen and Dana) arrived with dogs in tow for a knitastic day. Needless to say, 5 dogs hanging out, running around the backyard, have left them all wiped out. Whitley is currently passed out on the couch asleep. As soon as they left she popped up here and crashed.
Dana is working on her knee high socks that she is making from her handspun yarn. They are even more amazingly beautiful in person. Hopefully she will be done them tonight … and be able to show them off to the world. The are rather inspiring. However, I don’t know if I could knit them. I get bored on socks. Though, at the moment I am doing both socks at once. Perhaps, it will make it more bearable.
I have pictures (don’t I always say that?) to post later.

Yes my dears. It is time for NaBloPoMo (link on the side bar, am too lazy to get it for you).
Now, the trouble is remembering to actually write the posts. Remember the days when your parents tied a piece of yarn to your finger to remind you that you needed to remember something? Well, now I do that with yarn that I want to play with. I will tie some around my wrist or fingers and wear it for a day. Or at work, I will set the yarn by my desk so that I can view it and contemplate it. If I’m not sure what the yarn wants to be or haven’t purchased it for a specific project, I will study it … try to figure out what it should morph into.
So that won’t work. On another note. I need to find some sort of knitting charm for my Pandora bracelet.
