Round 2 – SockMadness2

Okay. So I was going to use STR BellaCoola but the one I have is medium weight. Back to the drawing board. The pattern was supposed to come out tomorrow, but instead it came out today. Nice April Fools early!! SO, its knit time! There will be a lack of posting during this time, since its the first 20 finishers that move on. I doubt I will make it, but, there is always hope!

To tide you over, here is a picture of some of the new products going up on the KnitFrontandBack etsy store soon.

My Fortune Cookie told me:
You are dreaming. It is time to wake up now.
Get a cookie from Miss Fortune

But I don’t wanna wake up. I want to stay sleeping. *sigh* guess that isn’t going to happen. I was up at 5am this morning as a fax machine phoned my cell phone. I couldn’t get back to sleep. I have had a few of these but can’t find who the number belongs to. Frustrating.

I think I might leave work a bit early and go knit. With the girls.

teasers

Round One of Sockmadness has officially ended and I am “officially” into the next round. That being said, they have given us a “teaser” on the next round specs. They used Socks that Rock and size US 1 needles. Well, as it so happens I do have some of that yarn (errr or way too much of it!) and even found the colorway that I will use. It was in my desk at work, from one of the sock club mailings. Its the Bella Coola colorway. So for now that is the color I am using, unless of course the pattern screams for something else!

My other teaser is the project that I am test knitting …

Templeton
It is being knit out of Knit Front and Back’s S.A.S.S.Y. yarn. Color is “I hate Holidays”. It is turning out quite nice if I do say so myself!

Rambling Rows Afghan

The new project is the Rambling Rows Afghan. It was first mentioned (at least to my knowledge) by Cara at Januaryone.com. I want to knit things out of the Knit Front and Back yarn that is more than just socks. This seemed like the perfect project. Cameron is so completely excited about the fact that his Mommy is going to make him something. He even picked out the colors.

Rambling Rows Afghan
The green is closer to the color in the picture with all the yarns together. I did take the pictures last night so it wasn’t the best light! I have started knitting it and will continue to do so while also knitting other things such as the project I am ignoring and eventually the socks for the second round of Sock Madness 2.

Sometimes the days with Cameron go by way to fast. Lately, I have been going through a period of “I can’t believe he is 5!”. The conversations that we have sometimes blow my mind with the complexity. The questions that he has and what he ponders. At the moment (well its been this way for a bit) we have been on a huge dinosaur kick. Which of course leads to conversations evolving around the evolution of the planet, how it has changed, where the dinosaurs have gone, what killed them off ect. I don’t sugar coat anything with him because as soon as I do he then gets the real answer somewhere else. So its easier to just chat about it.

naptime

This is him two weekends ago. We had been watching a movie and he moved from the couch to the floor. Usually a sign that he is tired. So after curling up under the table I placed this old afghan that my mom had made me over him. I love this blanket. And the fact that I have it now is a testament to how wonderful handmade blankets are.

(insert knitting transition here)

Which leads me to my next project … the one that I am going to be knitting that I shouldn’t be knitting as I told certain people (*coughcoughDANAcoughcoughKARENcoughcough*) that I would be knitting exclusively on a certain pattern and this is not it. The yarn is from Knit Front and Back of course. The pattern and other particulars will be revealed once some pictures are taken. Let’s just say its for a certain little man who wants his mommy to knit something for him … (I will try to update it all tomorrow!)
