to knit or not to knit…
I am having a very hard time figuring out what to knit at the moment (other than a current project that will eventually be revealed…). I want to knit a sweater. There are a few that have caught my attention like the peasant blouse in the new Interweave (too lazy to link up). However, there is a problem. I’ve lost 32.5 lbs and am still losing. I am hoping to get to my goal weight by the end of May. That being said, I am not sure that I want to invest the time for a sweater because I know my body is going to change that much more. Since January alone I have lost 17.5 lbs and gone from a size 18/20 to a size 13/15 (with a skirt size of 11).
My Dad is Dying sweater made out of luscious Lorna’s Lace yarn has become a blanket for Whitley to curl up with. It is absolutely huge on me. It used to fit just perfect but now there is easily 10′ of ease in the sweater if not more. I have to admit that she is awfully cute curled up with it.
So. When I was my “fat” self I didn’t want to knit things for me because I knew that eventually one day I would maybe lose weight if I ever got myself motivated and dealt with my issues as to why I am fat. (which I have and am dealing with and feel fuckin fantastic about). Now I don’t want to knit because I am LOSING and don’t want to put the time into something until I am where I want to be. Such a problem!!
So. Instead I keep knitting this other project. I shouldn’t even be contemplating knitting something else. But I am. I am actually excited to be knitting myself some of those cute tops that I’ve always wanted to knit but never did because they would look like shit on me.
I will get pictures. Soon. Promise.

OMG, while the Lorna’s is kinda cute (terribly overrated BTW) it looks far better on Whitters than on you.
And hurray for being a big loser.. you make it look easy. Nothing tastes better than being thinner some days huh? And it looks HAUTE on you.
Congrats on your personal progress. I lost from a 14 to an 8 over the course of a year, and when I pulled my sweaters out of the drawer they were miles too big! So either wait to cast on when you hit your goal size, or go ahead and cast on now for something that will fit you a few months from now. Just be sure it has lots of waist shaping! I had to completely re-learn how to choose shaped garments myself.
What are you eating and not eating? 32 lbs is amazing! Knit hats and shawls until you get to goal. then knit something that’s all about your tits and tight. I know I’m a week late and you’ve probably started something but that’s what I say!
I lost 10 lbs but seem stuck here but am happy with that as I only want to lose 10 more right now.
Got inked yesterday in Banff.
Way to go! How are you doing it?
