weekend fun…
It’s only Sunday morning and the weekend has been a busy one. It started on Friday with a party at work. We have a monthly social event and this month is was a potluck with a hawaii theme. Of course there were a few drinks to be had. After work I came home to let the dog out and have a short nap. It was only for 15 minutes but it was long enough to revive me for a trip to Dana’s house. She has moved into her new place and it was time for a housewarming party. A blast was had by all. Karen and I had been to her house the weekend of the move, there had been boxes and chaos everywhere. What a change on Friday. The house was boxless! I love it. I think that the house is perfect for her and her hubby.
Saturday was hockey with Cameron (breakfast first) and then we hung out at home. Sending him to the sitters in the afternoon so I could get his birthday presents wrapped and taken care of. He turns five on Tuesday but today we will be celebrating his birthday and his grandpa’s birthday together. He is very excited as is Grandpa Jeff. The presents under the tree are birthday presents. No Christmas stuff to go under the tree until his birthday is over.
Oh. And I too bought a Ladybug. At $425 with a tensioned lazy kate I couldn’t refuse! It is my present to myself! I will be picking it up this week.

There are 9.5 working days left until I am on my Christmas vacation. Today was our holiday brunch and it went rather well if I do say so myself. Though, drinking in the afternoon leaves a girl feeling rather nappy.
It has been a busy weekend in my household. I had Cameron and had promised him that I would not put up the tree until he was with me. Of course, I also didn’t prepare until the day of … this meant rearranging the living room to make it more suitable for the tree. I basically flipped it around and like it so much better. It actually feels a bit more homey. I have also decided to get an electric fireplace for upstairs once the holidays are over to put where the tree is. I have talked to a lot of people about them and I have heard nothing but great things. I plan on renovating eventually but it won’t be for a few years. So this is a short term solution until I put in a gas fireplace.
Cameron’s hockey pictures came in too. He is so awesome! I will post some as soon as I get them uploaded.
(and yes there has been some knitting, but not tons. Too tired).
